Working with DMG, SparseImage, SparseBundle, and CDR Disk Images on Windows and Linux

In macOS, disk images in the .dmg, .sparseimage, .sparsebundle, and .cdr formats are often used for file storage, backup, and data transfer. However, when such files are opened on Windows or Linux, many users have questions: how these formats differ, how to open them correctly, which options to use for mounting, and how to access the files inside the image.

How to Rebuild Data Disks in Unraid 7.3.1: Single and Dual Parity

In this article, we will examine critical data loss scenarios on servers running Unraid OS, specifically reliable data recovery from Single Parity and Dual Parity array configurations. We will look at how to correctly connect the server’s physical drives directly to a computer and prepare them for safe scanning. We will apply specialized approaches to reconstructing damaged arrays and recovering files depending on the number of functioning disks remaining.

Restoring files encrypted by EFS on an NTFS drive

In this article, we will examine a situation where files were encrypted using Windows EFS and then disappeared: they were accidentally deleted, formatted, or the partition was deleted, the NTFS file system became damaged, or access to the files was lost after reinstalling Windows. We will demonstrate how to work with the EFS certificate and private key on Windows, and how to work with encrypted files on macOS.

How to Recover Data from an Encrypted LUKS Disk

In this article, we will look at how to recover data from drives protected by LUKS encryption technology. We will step through the cross-platform recovery of information from such media using Hetman Partition Recovery, which makes it possible to safely unlock and recover encrypted drives directly in your familiar working environment on Windows, macOS, or Linux.
