Vladimir Artiukh is a technical writer for Hetman Software, as well as the voice and face of their English-speaking YouTube channel, Hetman Software: Data Recovery for Windows. He handles tutorials, how-tos, and detailed reviews on how the company’s tools work with all kinds of data storage devices.

As a professional linguist with a Master’s degree in English, Vladimir taught college students and worked as a freelance translator for a number of local agencies before joining the Hetman Software team.

Although initially specialized in languages, Vladimir has always been interested in technology, reading avidly every IT magazine he could find and building his own computers. With his professional background and four years of writing experience in the IT field combined, Vladimir does his best to create instructive videos that help people use latest technology effectively for work, play, and anything else.

In this article we will examine the process of data recovery from mdadm RAID 0, 5 and 6 arrays created in the OpenMediaVault 8.2.8 operating system. We will analyze the most common data loss scenarios: accidental file deletion via network protocols SMB, NFS or FTP, data corruption due to failure of one or more drives, server or NAS hardware failure, as well as software failures of the OpenMediaVault operating system caused by updates or critical bugs.
